Over 2 years ago we at ’Shoes To Share’ approached Lyngby Tennis Club and asked if the club would interested in collaborating with us. As an organization that encourages clubs around the world to donate used tennis shoes to underprivileged kids across the globe, Lyngby Tennis Club saw this as a great opportunity to promote social responsibility within their community and decided to take part.
Lyngby Tennis Club had already started collecting used clothes and tennis balls to be donated. So it came naturally for them to collect the used shoes as well when they received a donation station from ourselves. The junior players at the club have been absolutely fantastic and showed great enthusiasm. All in all they have collected 71 pairs of shoes.

Due to the Covid19 lockdown which started in March, 2020, the club were unable to complete the project. Excitingly, in September 2021, Lyngby finally got to gather a few of their U12 juniors to clean the shoes and put them in bags to have them ready to be shipped.
We are very happy to say on 27th January, 2022 the kids got to put the 71 pairs of shoes in the box together with used clothes and tennis balls. The box was finally ready to be shipped.
This box will be making its way to the Philippines. Former Philippines Davis Cup players who live abroad have created a non-profit organization called, ’Tennis On Wheels’. This amazing initiative aims to provide free tennis clinics to underprivileged children ages 5-10 all over the Philippines, especially in areas that need it most.
Lyngby Tennis Club have shared with us that they are so proud and humbled to be involved with both organizations to make a difference for those less fortunate. Hopefully we are paving the way for other clubs and sports organizations to do the same.
